For the last few years we’ve seen an abundance of ‘Keep Calm and Carry On’ posters, merchandise, greetings cards and stuff appear - they seem to be everywhere and have also manifested into all kinds of parodies and joke versions such as ‘Keep Calm and Drink Vodka’ and ‘Keep Calm and Bake Cupcakes’, to name just a couple!

It’s fascinating to learn though, how the ‘Keep Calm’ phenomenon began in 2001 - almost 50 years later than intended - and how its popularity spread like wildfire amongst UK and beyond!

Take a look at the video to see how the the famous phrase really came out, after being forgotten for decades!

This Dior cosmetics viral is very similar to the fun, cabaret inspired Chanel make up viral showcasing their nail varnishes from last year (which I loved!), if you didn’t see it, watch it here!

Cannot wait for this fashion documentary to hit our screens later this year! Directed by Lina Plioplyte, Advance Style Film documents all the fabulous fashion happenings of the stylish older ladies of New York, inspired by the blog ‘Advanced Style’ that was started over three years ago by Ari Seth Cohen. Having just moved to NY and living in Williamsburg, Ari was working at the New Museum Book Store and shooting stylish ladies in her spare time!

A book, Advanced Style, documenting the stylish snaps is due out in May, preorder here.

Valentino launches the next phase in museums

Introducing the Valentino Garavani Virtual Musuem, an unprecedented digital fashion experience showcasing five decades of fashion history. The virtual museum is a downloadable desktop application connected to an online database that uses a real time 3D technology to create an immersive environment. It includes over 5,000 images of dresses, illustrations and photographs as well as 95 fashion show videos. The museum will be available for download on December 5, 2011 at Valentino Garavani Archives

“I see it as part of my legacy,” said Valentino. “I am happy that thousands of students, young designers and fashion people will be able to see and study my work in every aspect of it and in a manner easy and accessible for the younger generations.
